Google Magic Formula - Review of the latest product on the block to tackle the AdWords beast.

Whats it about?

Although the main focus of the product is help the reader master the AdWords game, it has enough information in it to be a complete solution for the beginner Internet Marketer.

You will find inside information on Affiliate programs (one of the best ways to get started to make money online), tips on writing Ads, AdWords strategies, plus a lot of other helpful information which is present in the bonuses. But more on that later. Lets dig in and find out what Google Magic Formula has to offer us.

Google Magic Formula - Volume 1

There are two volumes inside the product. The first part is aimed at the beginner marketer and provides an introduction to AdWords. As you would be aware, AdWords is Google’s program where a site owner can bid on his chosen set of keywords. Based on a myriad set of factors, his ad would then display in the right side of Google’s search results when a user searches for that keyword on Google.

Now, since the space is limited for writing the ad, you have to make the best use out of it. The headline of course, is the most important part as that is what catches the user’s attention. Then next you have to make your sales pitch in the body of the ad in just a couple of lines. You may have to test you first ad, make some changes, test again and then go through this cycle a number of times before you hit upon the one that really works for you and is profitable also.

Not to forget that Google determines the bid on each keyword based on the conversion ratio of your ad. And the bids might be climbing up all the time if Google thinks that your ad is not performing well enough.

So what does this mean? It means a lot of money can go down the drain (or into Google’s pockets, if you will) before you start seeing any kind of ROI on your ads. This is where Google Magic Formula steps in.

The first volume covers the following points -

  • Introduction to Affiliate Marketing
  • AdWords overview
  • How to choose a product to promote
  • Setting up your AdWords account
  • Tips and tricks for writing effective ads

The information given is of good quality, though experienced marketers who are just looking for AdWords strategies may want to skip this volume and go straight away to the second one, which offers more advanced information on AdWords.

While Andrew and Steven (authors of Google Magic Formula) try to build up anticipation for the second part, there are some golden nuggets also in this volume when you reach the second half of the book.

Next I will take up the second volume and review it to see if the whole package is worth buying or not.
